  8. ontains one of the most important examples of cave art in the world. Dozens of engravings and above all paintings present a fabulous bestiary of ibex, goats, horses, bulls, aurochs and above all bison, depicted with exceptional skill. Undoubtedly the rel
  9. igious sanctuary of a cult that will forever remain a mystery, the cave was decorated in this way 15,000 years ago, in what is known as the \i ôMagdalenianö\i0  period. Fragile and under threat from artificial lighting and excessive numbers of visitors, 
  10. the site was closed to the public in 1963. But a totally accurate replica, constructed near the original cave, makes it possible for everyone to see the paintings.\par
